Sara Motheral is a Research Technician in the Applied Plant Ecology Division at the San Diego Zoo Institute for Conservation Research. Sara’s work focuses on restoring habitat for wildlife species whose populations have declined due to loss of native habitat. She is a lead researcher on two local restoration projects. Specifically, she is studying coastal cactus wren populations and their response to habitat enhancement in San Diego County, and examining the effect of grassland restoration on the success of Stephens’ kangaroo rat translocations in Riverside County.
