Randy Rieches serves as the Henshaw Curator of Mammals for the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. He manages a collection of 170 species/subspecies, which encompasses 1700 specimens including 30 Endangered and 7 Threatened species. Randy participates in a number of conservation field projects. Przewalski's Wild Horse, Bongo antelope, Saiga antelope, Greater one-horned rhinoceros and African elephants to name a few. He is also the Greater one-horned rhinoceros Species Coordinator, IUCN Cervid Specialists Group Member, sits on the Board of Directors for the International Rhino Foundation and the International Elephant Foundation. He has authored numerous articles and papers on mammalian species in different scientific journals and magazines. He holds degrees in both agriculture and zoology.
