Amy Kilshaw has been a research associate for the Maui Bird Conservation Center since June 2010. Amy studied Marine Biology at the University of Liverpool. Her passion for birds growing up led her to pursue a career in avian husbandry. Amy worked in Alaska for four years with the only captive flock of research Steller’s eiders and many other Arctic bird species, including puffins and kittiwakes. She volunteered her time working for a bird rehabilitation center treating injured birds such as bald eagles, snowy owls and waterfowl. Before joining Hawaii Endangered Bird Conservation Program, Amy worked in western Australia studying the breeding behavior of the fairy penguin.
